Adds Free Services for All Clients

At most tax filing services online, old-fashioned customer service comes with a price tag. This year, ( is bucking that trend by refusing to charge taxpayers for some extra services.

“Taxpayers shouldn’t have to pay extra for things like extra copies of their own tax returns or assistance from a real, live person,” stated spokesperson Michele Tyson. “At, we pledge that certain services, which most taxpayers would consider necessities, will remain free of charge.”

Those services include live telephone support from tax experts seven days a week; a hard copy of the taxpayer’s tax returns mailed to his or her home or business; and storage of every customer’s tax returns for three full years on the secure servers – all at no cost to the customer.

It is in stark contrast to the business practices of the company’s competitors, but, said Tyson, operates on the principle that customer-centric service should not be reserved only for those who can pay for it.

Since its inception in 2002, has been making it easy for customers to file their tax returns and tax extensions online. The company’s tax filing services, which start at $29.95, are fully automated and simple to use, thanks to the proprietary software. Customers simply answer a few questions, and does the rest. In as little as 15 minutes, the customer’s tax return is ready to sign and mail or e-file.

“Filing taxes is often a nerve-wracking experience,” Tyson said. “Live help, secure storage and free hard copies of returns are services can provide to make it easier on our customers. As a company in which tens of thousands of taxpayers put their trust each year, we feel we should not charge extra for peace of mind.”
